The Finnish Diverse Learners’ Association

The Finnish Diverse Learners’ Association is a national dyslexia organisation in Finland with member organisations in different parts of the country. The association has no individual members; all of the members are organisations.

Anyone who is interested in learning difficulties can become a member in a regional association, and current members include professionals, parents and affected learners alike. The association considers it important to keep professionals from different fields actively involved in the organisations’ work.

The main sources of funding for the association and its member organisations are Finland’s Slot Machine Association and the Finnish Ministry of Education. Additional, project-specific funding is financed by the European Union and the Social Insurance Institution of Finland.

The association’s biggest member organisation, Helsinki Regional Diverse Learners’ Association, operates a Centre for Diverse Learners in the heart of Helsinki.
